“We have filed a case in the Gautam Budh Nagar district court to save our houses from demolition. The court has asked for a reply from the Noida authority on the issue,” said Suryakant Pandey, a resident who has moved court.
Residents say that why the district administration allowed registry and mutation, when the land was notified for a state highway.
“A probe is on to ascertain how the mutation of a government land took place,” said Rajesh Yadav, sub-divisional magistrate.

Illegal colonies are thriving in villages such as Sorkha, Shahberi, Jalpura, Haibatpur, Bhanota and Bahlolpur, among others. Before the approval of the Greater Noida Master Plan-2021, developers were selling a 100-square metre plot for R7-9 lakh. But now the rate for a 100-square metre plot has doubled to R14 to 18 lakh.
