Rapid Mono Rail in National Capital Region Call @ 08010060609


 The Union Cabinet today approved constitution of National Capital Region Transport Corporation Limited (NCRTC) under the Companies Act, 1956 with initial seed capital of Rs.100 crore as per Company Act, 1956 for designing, developing, implementing, financing, operating and maintaining Regional Rapid Transit system (RRTS) in National Capital Region (NCR) to provide comfortable and fast transit to NCR towns and meet the high growth in transport demand.  This company may form subsidiary companies for implementing each corridor.

The seed capital of Rs. 100 crore shall be contributed as follows:-

History

The Union Cabinet on 11 July 2013 approved constitution of National Capital Region Transport Corporation Limited (NCRTC) under the Companies Act, 1956 with initial seed capital of Rs.100 crore as per Company Act, 1956 for designing, developing, implementing, financing, operating and maintaining Regional Rapid Transit system (RRTS) in National Capital Region (NCR) to provide comfortable and fast transit to NCR towns and meet the high growth in transport demand. This company may form subsidiary companies for implementing each corridor.[2]

Routes

The three prioritized corridors, as per recommendation of the Task Force, to be taken up by NCRTC initially are as follows:

The first corridor, Delhi-Sonepat-Panipat, is 111 km long and is expected to see a daily ridership of nearly four lakh in 2016. The Delhi-Gurgaon-Alwar stretch is 180 km long and is estimated to cater to seven lakh people. The third corridor, Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut, is 90 km long and will carry an estimated 5.7 lakh people daily in 2016.

Future Expansion

The first three corridors have a total length of 381 km and five more will be added in the second phase.
These additional five corridors are Delhi-Faridabad-Ballabgarh-Palwal, Ghaziabad-Khurja, Delhi-Bahadurgarh-Rohtak-Hisar, Ghaziabad-Hapur and Delhi-Shahadra-Baraut.
